Minors and Adult Charged for Damaging ComPol’s Vehicle
Last Friday, a fight broke out on Pelican Street which is not too far from the home of the ComPol. In the scuffle, the ComPol’s vehicle that was parked in front of his house was damaged when it was hit by stones. Today, three minors and an adult well-known to the court were charged for Damage to Property and three of the four accused persons were arraigned in court. Twenty-two year old Kenroy Willoughby did not show up in court claiming he is sick, but that did not stop the arraignment two, fifteen year olds and a fourteen year old in the Belize Family Court. Allegations are that the three minors along with Willoughby caused damages of one thousand four hundred dollars to the government issued Toyota Hilux Pick-up truck assigned to Commissioner Allen Whylie. The three minors appeared in the presence of their mother and guardians to be read the charge. They were all unrepresented and Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith offered them bail in the sum of five hundred dollars each. The trio was taken to the Queen Street Police Station because they were unable to meet bail this afternoon. Their next court case was adjourned for December first, 2014.
