Boxing Seminar for Fans, Coaches and Fighters

Moses Sulph

Fans of boxing, coaches, referees as well as the pugilists themselves are being invited to attend an upcoming seminar to gain a better understanding of the sport and expectations that come along with membership in the Belize Boxing Federation.  B.B.F. President, Moses Sulph, stopped by earlier today to discuss the first-of-its-kind conference to be held at the ITVET next weekend.

Moses Sulph, President, Belize Boxing Federation

“The Belize Boxing Federation will be hosting a boxing information seminar on Saturday, October twenty-fifth starting at ten a.m. at the ITVET compound.  This is very important because what we have found out or what I have analyzed is that there are many persons in Belize who are interested in boxing and they know about boxing but they do not understand the procedures, the technical aspects, the procedural aspects of boxing.  So it is important for every boxer, potential boxer, coaches, potential coaches, referees, judges and also those who have interest in partaking in boxing in Belize to come to the seminar to ascertain the proper information which is necessary in order for them to be a part of the federation.  One thing we must keep in mind is that as a federation that is affiliated with an international federation there are procedures that have been set out that we have to follow and guidelines that have been set.  We cannot make our own guidelines for certain principles with regards to technical aspects and the procedural aspects and the byelaws and the statutes and those types of things.  So I want to inform people so that they can be more empowered and I’ll be a part of the presentation along with Mr. Ordonez.  He has been the head referee in this country and he is IBA certified.”

An open call is being made to boxing gyms across the country to attend the seminar.
