Surety forfeited for Hassan El-Sayed
The man who posted a surety for Supreme Court no-show Hassan El-Sayed, has lost his two hundred thousand dollars. Today, Justice Adolph Lucas ordered Haisan El-Batihish to immediately forfeit and turn over possession of the property located in Buttonwood Bay, when El-Sayed once again failed to appear. El-Sayed, along with Gabby Affif, has been accused of forgery and forgery related charges in connection with the passport scandal which broke three years ago. El-Sayed has missed at least three court appearances during his trial and it is widely believed he is no longer in the country. Speculation about his whereabouts intensified several weeks ago when a shipping container was seen outside his Belama home. And while El-Batihish has now lost the property he put up to help his friend get bail, Affif, accused of making a tidy sum from the illegal sale of Belizean passports also had a run of bad luck this week when his boat, the “Josette”, and its twin engines were reported stolen from in front of his home at Bally Gardens.
