And in another similar case, three people accused of kidnapping the ex-girlfriend of one of the men and robbing her, appeared before Magistrate Margaret McKenzie today. The trio, Anthony Gabourel, Eldon Bevans, and Kimberly Brown, were arrested following a report by nineteen year old Emily Rhaburn. She told police that on the night of October tenth she and her boyfriend, Victor Augustine, and her sister Lisa Rhaburn were walking on Cemetery Road when a double cab red pickup with no license plate stopped and her ex-boyfriend Eldon Bevans got out, grabbed her purse, and forced her into the vehicle. She reported that two other people were inside and that the trio took her to a house on Jane Usher Boulevard and locked her in a room. Rhaburn says they took away her cell phone and later left, and she managed to escape. Gabourel and Bevans were charged with kidnapping, robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery, while Kimberly Brown was charged only with conspiracy to rob. But in a dramatic about face by the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, charges were withdrawn against Brown and Gabourel, leaving Eldon Bevans to stand alone.
