Jose Abrego Injured in Weekend Shooting
Earlier in the newscast, we told you about the search of the body of a Roaring Creek resident, who is presumed dead. While investigations continue by the Belmopan Police Formation, the department is also investigating a shooting on Friday night at the Blue Mountain Range on the Hummingbird Highway. Forty-seven year old Jose Abrego, a foreman of Saint Margaret’s Village was shot twice on the abdomen and once on the leg as he exited his workplace at Blue Mountain Ranch on his motorcycle. A man dressed in camouflage clothing with a hood over his head reportedly fired the shots at him.

“We visited the Western Regional Hospital where we met one Jose Abrego of miles thirty-six on the Hummingbird Highway. He had apparent gunshot wounds to the abdomen area. We have been investigating and we know who we are looking for. We have a suspect whose particulars will soon be released for assistance from the public to capture him.”
