Disorderly bus rider shot by police
An unruly passenger who would not get off a bus was shot in the leg by police on Wednesday. Police say the driver asked an officer at the Burrell Boom checkpoint on the Northern Highway to remove twenty-two year old Daniel Flores, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Flores did not agree and is alleged to have punched the officer in the face, then, along with three friends, made threatening advances. The officer drew his weapon and fired a single shot into Flores’ leg. While Flores was being taken to the hospital, the police say they discovered he was in possession of a small package of marijuana. The Sarteneja resident was charged with assault, disorderly conduct, and drug trafficking.
