Cops collar city robbery suspect

Police have acted quickly to arrest a suspect in a Belize City hold-up. Twenty-six year old Kareem Bowen of Sibun Street has been charged with robbery as the result of an incident that occurred Tuesday night on Freetown Road. Twenty-two year old Joseph Arteno told police that he was walking down that street around ten when two men rode up behind him on bicycles and threatened to shoot him if he did not hand over his valuables. Arteno gave up his watch, a hundred dollars in cash and a pack of cigarettes… but in the end may have gotten the last laugh. It was based on his positive identification that Bowen was arrested and charged. Police are still seeking the second suspect.
