Father & Sons Charged for Grievous Harm
Fifty-nine-year-old Agustin Carlos, a Belizean cane farmer of Progresso Village, Corozal District, reported that on Saturday at about six p.m. he visited a cool spot across from his house where he saw his nephew twenty-four-year-old Israel Carlos, lying on the ground motionless. In the vicinity, he saw three male persons, whom he knows, armed with a piece of stick and machetes. He then tried to render assistance to his nephew when one of the men advanced towards him and hit him on the left side of the head with a stick, causing a large cut wound. Another man armed with a machete reportedly approached him and chopped him on the right side of his head causing a large cut wound. The father and sons then left the area. Twenty-two-year-old Abisai Lino and eighteen-year-old Charlie Lino, both of Progresso Village, have since been jointly charged for the crime of Grievous Harm. Corozal police are currently continuing their investigation, as more charges are expected to be levied upon the Lino’s in regards to the injuries sustained by Israel Carlos.
