Butane Prices Down
Following an increase at the end of October, the prices for butane gas are going down tonight at depots across the country. According to a release, the Supplies Control Unit is reporting that effective midnight, the controlled price per hundred pound cylinder of liquid petroleum gas will decrease by six dollars across the board for all imported fuel. For customers of Belize Gas Limited and Western Gas Company Limited, the cost of butane will decrease from one hundred and fifteen dollars to one hundred and nine dollars in Belize City and Corozal. In Belmopan and San Ignacio, the price goes down to one hundred and eleven dollars, while Orange Walk and Benque Viejo del Carmen residents will pay one hundred and ten dollars and one hundred and twelve dollars, respectively. Dangriga and Punta Gorda will still pay the highest buck for butane at one hundred and thirteen and a hundred and fourteen dollars. But for the customers of Belize Western Energy Limited, Southern Choice Butane or Zeta Gas and Gas Tomza Limited, the price is even less. Belize City and Corozal consumers will experience the same six dollars decrease and pay one hundred and six dollars per hundred pound cylinder. Orange Walk residents will spend one hundred and seven dollars, while San Ignacio and Belmopan consumers can purchase butane as low as one hundred and eight dollars. The release ends by saying that LPG prices are fifteen dollars lower per hundred pound cylinder when compared to 2013.
