Joel Gordon Charged with Aggravated Assault of his Sister

A fifty-six year old man was before the court today to answer to two criminal offenses after he was accused of committing an aggravated assault with a machete upon his own sister during a family dispute. He is Joel Gordon, who appeared before Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith in Court and was arraigned for two criminal offenses for Aggravated Assault with a Machete and Using Threatening Words upon his sister, Janelle Gordon Gilharry. Joel pleaded not guilty to both charges and since there was no objection, he was offered bail in the sum of one thousand dollars plus one surety of the same amount. Joel’s case was adjourned until January, 2015.  According to a report made by his sister, the incident happened at her house on Amara Avenue last Friday where Joel approached her with the machete threatening to kill her.
