Duo drops submachine gun while evading police

While there are still way too many guns in this town, at least one high powered firearm has been taken off the streets. Police report that officers on patrol Wednesday night on Caesar Ridge Road attempted to question two men who appeared to be acting suspiciously, but the duo fled with one of the men pausing long enough to point a weapon at the cops. While running, however, the armed suspect slipped on the side of a drain and the firearm dropped to the ground. The guys kept running and upon inspection the object turned out to be a submachine gun. Police are searching for the suspects on charges of aggravated assault and keeping a prohibited firearm.
