Corozal man turns himself in after knocking child down

Police had better luck in solving another hit and run that occurred on Tuesday evening. On our newscast that night we reported the incident in which a young girl was knocked down on Mahogany Street by the driver of a white Mercedes who left the scene without stopping. That driver, thirty-eight year old Ravel Cowo of Santa Clara Village, Corozal, has now turned himself in. Cowo has been charged with failure to report a traffic accident, failure to stop and render aid, negligent grievous harm, driving without due care and attention, and drunk driving. Cowo’s victim, seven year old Keisha Dennison, was hospitalised at the K.H.M.H. with injuries to her legs and arms and was discharged today. News Five would like to thank those citizens who helped carry Keisha to the hospital as well as those who managed to record the car’s license plate and convey that information to News Five and police.
