Moya will announce candidacy for mayor of Belize City
Her candidacy had been floated weeks ago, but on Wednesday afternoon Zenaida Moya will officially announce her intention to be the United Democratic Party’s candidate for Mayor of Belize City. Moya, the union activist who has recently resigned from her post in the Ministry of National Development, will launch her campaign at Battlefield Park at two in the afternoon. She joins a crowded field of announced candidates including Kenrick Ysaguirre, Ernesto Torres, Rudolph Anderson, and Bernard Watler. Several others have also privately indicated a desire to run. The U.D.P. municipal convention will be held on October twenty-third.
