Boom nurse honoured for service to community
A nurse from Burrell Boom Village will be honoured by the Prime Minister next week for her dedicated service to Belize. Nurse Dorothy M. Bradley will be given the title “Honorary Commissioner for Belize’s Millennium Development Goals.” Nurse Bradley has spent the last fifty years as a rural health nurse serving villages all over Belize. Although she officially retired in 1994, she has continued to work as both nurse and midwife, delivering a premature infant as recently as September eleventh. She will be honoured during the Symposium on the Millennium Development Goals on September twenty-eighth.
