BCCI to Host Christmas Expo in the City

The Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry is hosting a Christmas expo this weekend in Belize City. The expo has become a popular event because it offers consumers great deals on everything, including grocery items and seasonal delights. We spoke with Public Relations Officer Jamie Rocke this afternoon and she told us what we can expect from this year’s event.

“This is our third annual Christmas expo, it’s taking place this weekend on the sixth and the seventh at the Ramada Belize Princess Hotel. Doors open at nine o’clock and goes straight through to six p.m. Adults can enter for three dollars, if you are twelve and older and eleven and under if you can enter for free.”

“What can we expect from this year’s expo when compared to previous years?”

“Well this year we have thirty exhibitors from both big and small businesses, the ones that we all know, like Courts and Bowen & Bowen, Comex, Smiling Meats, Southside Meats and we have smaller businesses, as well. This year it’s been a year where we emphasize our micro businesses in Belize and, you know, encourage our Belizean public to buy Belize. So we have Guilty Treasures, we have Sweet Delight’s rum popo, Just One cakes, Tropical Treasures. We have Mapye’s Beauty World, we have everything for everybody.”

“One of the things that the average expo-goer would be looking for are deals on specific items for this particular time of year. What can you share with us concerning any kind of deals or promotions that would be held by the promoters or the exhibitors?”
Jamie Rocke
“Well I know most of the exhibitors have twenty-five percent off on all their products. We have businesses like Grace Kennedy who are offering gift packages that have the entire, all the things you need for the Christmas [season] like your salad creams and the things that you need to make your cakes with. So all the businesses are catering to having a convenient experience where you can come and get everything under one roof at great prices. So it’s all about the convenience.”
The expo is among several activities being held across Belize City this weekend leading up to the Christmas.
