Tyrell Hyde Agrees to Settle Out of Court with Cops Who Robbed Him

Last September, twenty-two year old Tyrell Hyde was robbed by cops; it was all caught on tape by surveillance camera at a bank’s ATM machine. Hyde took his case to the media when he became frustrated that there was no action against the officers. Hyde claimed they stole his money after forcing him to withdraw cash from his Atlantic Bank ATM on Freetown Road. Well today, it appears that Hyde has agreed to sit at the negotiating table with the three accused cops. This morning, the matter was set for trial and it was held “en camera.”  The matter was dealt with expeditiously and at about eleven-twenty this morning, the three accused cops, Reymundo Requeña, Joslyn Gill and Edgar Teul exited the court happy and smiling but offered no comment. PC Teul was represented by Attorney Hubert Elrington while Attorney Ellis Arnold represented Gill; Requeña was unrepresented. Hyde was represented by Attorney Anthony Sylvester. All sides have agreed to settle out of court and the matter was adjourned for January twenty-ninth, 2015. On September eighth, 2013 after his shake down by the cops, Hyde took his case to the office of the Ombudsman, but months after the incident, the cops had been charged. It was until December 2013 that the officers were brought to court and charged jointly with theft and granted bail.
