City resident accused of smuggling weed into prison
In news from the prison itself, last Friday guards detained a visitor after he tried to smuggle a plastic container filled with weed into the facility. On Monday, twenty-five year old Kirk Pollard appeared before Magistrate Emerson Banner where he pleaded not guilty to drug trafficking. According to court reports, just after one on Friday afternoon, a routine search of Pollard by prison officials turned up a Shedd’s Spread Country Crock container that had been stuffed with a little more than a quarter pound of marijuana. Pollard, a resident of Aloe Vera Street, was granted bail in the amount of five thousand dollars and told to return to Magistrate’s Court on the twentieth of October.
