Requeña Condemns Government for Dilapidated Roads in PG
According to Requeña, he has raised many issues in the National Assembly, but apparently nobody on the government side is listening. So he’s using the media in an attempt to get some attention because in this case, he says, the South really has become the forgotten district.
Oscar Requeña, P.U.P. Area Representative, Toledo West
“I want to take this opportunity to really speak on the issue of the road infrastructure in the Toledo District. The roads are in the worst condition, and I’m saying this tying in to the matter that I raised in the House on the dialysis system. I have raised so many matters in the National Assembly…the fact that Pueblo Viejo, Jalacte, Santa Elena, Mabilha, Crique Jute, Mafredi still don’t have a water system after seven years of U.D.P. government. This is a serious concern, the fact that the roads are in the worst condition, but nobody cares, that is the truth. And that is why I keep insisting in the National Assembly that we have a U.D.P. government that is only concerned about Belize City and to hell with the rural area.”
