City teen re-arrested for shopkeeper murder
A man has been re-arrested and charged once more for the murder of Belize City shopkeeper, Hilberto Aragon. Although charges against nineteen-year-old Francis Petillo had been withdrawn in July, apparently new evidence or new developments in the case has led to him appearing in the Supreme Court this week where the charge was reinstated. Petillo was originally charged alongside Basil Willis. The two will now stand trial for Aragon’s murder, which occurred on May eleventh, 2004 during a botched robbery attempt in the St. Martin de Porres area.
