Four arrested, goods recovered in A.A.A. burglary
Last week the office of the Alliance Against AIDS was broken into and computers and other equipment valued at over eighteen thousand dollars were stolen. Tonight there is some good news for the organisation as police got a tip over the weekend and they were able to recover the items and arrest four people, one of whom lives near the A.A.A.’s Meighan Avenue office. The Executive Director of the Alliance Against AIDS says the agency is grateful to the police and the caller who helped them recover not only the office equipment, but their extremely sensitive files.

“It is vital information, it must be protected. As an agency it is confidential information, especially of our client base. And I must say there is information on our clients but there is no open ID’s for them. Everything is numbered, but it is where we follow through our clients. So we are going to ensure that our building is safe.”
“I have lived for many years on Lizarraga; we are working very hard, working with the young population. It is so uncomfortable to accept that it is our neighbours that keep an eye on us and get in there. But I want to say that it does sadden us that these are our neighbours and we do know that there is a group in our neighbourhood that is very insincere and unkind.”
Gary and Demus Bowen of Morning Glory Street, Sherilyn Young of Periwinkle Street, and Jamaal Gentle of Lizarraga Avenue appeared in court today where they were charged with burglary and handling stolen goods.
