Trio Charged for Drug Trafficking

A Belize City businessman, Kevin Pandy, his girlfriend, Elmarose Cabral, and his cousin, Jomo Avila, were all jointly charged with one count each of drug trafficking for three point two grams of crack cocaine which was allegedly found at his New Road house, Belize City on December twenty-sixth, 2014. This morning, the trio was brought to the Belize City Magistrate’s Court where they were arraigned on a single charge of Possession of a Controlled Drugs, with Intent to Supply another Person or Persons for Drug Trafficking.  All three pleaded not guilty to the charge and bail was offered to them in the sum of five thousand dollars each.   According to reports, Pandy and his girlfriend, Elmarose were involved in an argument and she allegedly made a call to the police who conducted a search of Pandy’s house where the drug was found. The case of the trio has been adjourned for February twenty-seventh, 2015.
