Two cyclists dead in Corozal road accident
A traffic accident on the Northern Highway Sunday afternoon has left two people dead and sent four others to the hospital. Sixty year old Policarpio Chan and forty-six year old Eliseo Huits were riding their bicycles on the highway between miles seventy-three and seventy-four around three-thirty when they were struck from behind by a Ford Ranger pickup driven by Edwin Pott of San Narciso Village. The two cyclists were thrown into the path of another pickup, a Toyota that was heading in the opposite direction. Chan and Huits were pronounced dead on arrival at the Corozal hospital, while Pott received serious head and body injuries and is in the K.H.M.H. in a critical condition. The driver of the other pickup, Victor Pena, fractured his leg, while his passengers Myrna White and her son, Eric, were also injured.
