Social Security donates to worthy causes
It may not have anything to do with his rosy financial projections, but Social Security Chairman Yasin Shoman was handing out more cheques today, this time to some very deserving organisations. As part of its continuing programme of assisting worthy causes, the S.S.B. awarded a total of eighty thousand dollars in grants. These included ten thousand dollars for Marla’s House of Hope in Belmopan, fifteen thousand for CARE Belize, twenty-five thousand to the Belize Haemophilia Society, five thousand to help the San Pedro Town Board pave Pescador Drive with cobblestones and twenty-five thousand for the Ministry of Transport to erect billboards as part of a road safety campaign.
