Bliss filled with September activities
The September celebrations calendar is chock full of activities, but not many of them are organized with Belize’s youngest citizens in mind. This is why the Institute of Creative Arts has revived the Children’s Talent Parade. News Five spoke with ICA’s Director of Programmes Leroy Green about this chance for Belizean students to join in the celebrations.

“Yeah, because a lot of the focus is on teenagers or adults, and no matter how we look at it, the children are the future artists of tomorrow, so if we do not get them involved from an early age, when we ask them later on in life we will be fighting a losing battle. That’s why last year we revived the children’s talent parade and it was a roaring success. We started at six-thirty and we stopped at nine o’clock and there were still about fifty kids waiting to go on, but we had to stop it, because it was getting late and it was a school night.”
This year the Children’s Talent Parade will be held on September seventh at the Memorial Park beginning at six p.m. Other activities at the Bliss this September include: Francis Reneau in concert on September fourth, The High School talent show on the ninth, Voice of Belize singing contest, which takes place on the thirteenth of September featuring gospel and pop music. Each contestant will also be asked to perform one national or patriotic song. Interested persons are asked to register at the Bliss as soon as possible. On September seventeenth, there is an open air concert in the lot behind the Bliss in collaboration with UNICEF XCHANGE, while on the eighteenth a D.J. competition will be held at the same location.
