2 dismissed, 2 to stand trial for cop murder
The Preliminary Inquiry into the murder of Police Constable Nedi Reymundo was held this week and two of the four men accused of the crime have been released. Windell Vernon, Chadrick Debride, Winston Jones, and Glenn Jordan appeared before Magistrate Dorothy Flowers but Jordan and Vernon were given their walking papers after it became apparent that there was no evidence against them. As for Jones and Debride, a prima facie case was made against them and they will have to stand trial in the October session of the Supreme Court. The charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder were brought against the four following the shooting death of P.C. Reymundo on December twenty-fourth, 2004 near a barber shop in Belize City.
