Driver charged in N. Highway death
Corozal police have arrested the driver of a minivan for a fatal traffic accident over the weekend. Forty-three year old Hugo Espinoza of Chan Chen Village has been charged with manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, driving without due care and attention, and failure to render aid. Espinoza is accused of knocking down and killing thirty-three year old Ramon Rodriguez as he rode his bicycle between miles ninety and ninety-one on the Northern Highway. According to Espinoza, Rodriguez rode right into the path of his vehicle and there was nothing he could do to avoid the accident.
