The General Premieres New Video
Mega Belizean Punta Rock Artist, Supa G, is going “mad” with his latest track, “Party Insane.” The song came on the scene last year when Bowen and Bowen promoted the 2014 Sir Barry Bowen Belikin Bash. That commercial was shot by Island Films out of San Pedro and today at the Blue Room of the House of Culture, the official music video of “Party Insane” was premiered to several artists, disc jockeys and the public by Supa G and his team. The video features “the general” capturing the various essences of the Belizean culture and was filmed in Dangriga and San Pedro. News Five spoke today with Supa G and Barbara Noralez, his International Manager of Outta Griga Dan Productions on the Party Insane Project. Noralez says their aim is to take Supa’s music to the Caribbean.

“I feel like screaming, I feel like crying; I feel like it is an experience of blood sweat and tears. Days of going and going because what you see as the end result here is not the amount of work that we put into getting everybody together. But what helped it is that my experience with working with the cultural artists in Dangriga and then what Ben brought to it with the clips in San Pedro and all that. I think that what was the best thing about this video was that we harnessed some of the best talent that we can find in Belize. You know I’m a cultural promoter of this country. I think that what Belize is lacking when it comes to our videos and the things we show worldwide is the culture that is Belize and so I come from a culture that is Belize and I said Ben how can we incorporate this in this party song and so we started contacting he groups and we played with the concept over and over. We brought it to the sponsors who were willing to participate and so that is what happened.”

“What God has plan, no man could stop. This song was recorded in 2013…November, December soh and until September dah then we actually know the song really mi wah great. Actually a DJ Omar tell mi, but I neva did believe it until September when they do the Belikin Fest commercial with it. And right from there it gone and we had to do a video for it cause the song was really huge.”

“Actually around that time when everybody mi di talk about the party tun up and all kind of tun up and then I say mein this thing really di get stale; ih I get to me. So I say why people noh say the party insane? Then Junior Mars say bwai yo should write a song about that and then I say yo right; I should try something. And dah right soh the idea come in…very simple. I was actually in the studio recording a different song and we park that song weh I mi di do and then we work on the party insane song and thank God we did.”

“We should have had the video out early because we missed an opportunity. We should have had a launched in Jamaica around this time and we were shooting for…you know we have international people who are coming on board too, who want to be a part of it. So the first thing we are doing is going in the Caribbean, premiering the video in different parts of the Caribbean. We have a couple TV shows lined up in Jamaica and then one in Trinidad, but it had to be pushed back. But we are starting that way, where people of other cultures can identify with the culture of what Belize is.”
The video will be launched in the Caribbean in the weeks to come.
