Body of Murdered Honduran Woman to be Exhumed
Twelve days after she was buried three and a half miles north of San Pedro in the Grand Caribe Estate area, the body of Honduran national Silvia del Carmen Benitez, is to be exhumed. This rare act takes place at five-thirty on Friday morning and will be followed by a proper burial at the island’s cemetery. From information received, the Honduran Embassy was not informed that Benitez had been murdered nor buried at the site where her decomposing body was found on January seventeenth. Still there remain more questions than answers in her gruesome murder. Days after she went missing, the mother of three was found dead in the island. According to the police, she had injuries to the neck and face, but that the cause of death was undetermined. So far, there have been no arrests.
