Tattoo Artist Granted Bail

Estevan Mossiah

After seven nights on remand at the Belize Central Prison, forty-five year old tattoo artist, Estevan Mossiah, a Barrack Road resident, who was accused last week of having sexual intercourse with a fifteen year old minor twice in early January was in court today for a bail application. It was heard in the Supreme Court before Justice Troadio Gonzalez where Attorney Oscar Selgado made the application.  There was no objection and bail was offered in the sum of ten thousand dollars with conditions that he reports to the Queen Street Police Station every Friday, that he stays away from the complainant and that he shows up to all his court adjournments.  On January sixteenth, a fifteen year old girl reported to police that she had sexual intercourse twice with Mossiah, on the sixth and ninth of January, at his residence and business place on Barrack Road in Belize City.  Last week Friday, Mossiah appeared before Magistrate Hettie Mae Stewart where he was read the two indictable offenses. Today, while the Supreme Court granted him bail in the sum of ten thousand dollars, Mossiah was having trouble meeting bail.  His next court date is in February 2015.
