Arrest made in death of escaped burglar
Police in Punta Gorda have made an arrest in the death of escaped burglar Colin Mangar. Heminio Ical of Forest Home Village in the Toledo District has been charged with murder, as well as handling stolen property. Police believe that Ical and Mangar were partners and probably had an argument over items that they had stolen together. According to a police press release, Ical was found to be in possession of a number of articles belonging to Mangar as well as items believed to be the proceeds of burglaries. Mangar was arrested on August ninth and charged for a number of burglaries after police caught him red-handed with several stolen items. However, shortly after being returned to his holding cell at the Punta Gorda station, Mangar escaped. His partially decomposed body was found near Elridge Village last week Wednesday. A post-mortem has revealed that Mangar died of asphyxia due to strangulation.
