Accused rapist violated protection order
On Tuesday we reported on the arrest, for rape, of forty-eight year old Hilberto Perez of mile two and a half on the Western Highway. It is alleged that Perez forced his ex-common-law wife to drive him to his home where he forced her to engage in sex. Now it seems that Perez, who was remanded to prison until September nineteenth, has other problems. Although it did not serve its purpose, there was a protection order in effect that barred Perez from even getting close to his ex. The family court is none too happy that Perez breached its order and is expected to issue a large fine and/or imprisonment, regardless of how Perez may fare on the rape charge.
