Fourth suspect charged in San Pedro murder
A fourth suspect has been charged with the murder of San Pedro watchman Antonio Almendarez. He is twenty year old Shandoy Jeffords of Freedom Street in Belize City. Jeffords had previously been charged with robbery in connection with the same incident. On the night of July twenty-sixth, Fido’s Bar and Restaurant was robbed and in the course of the crime Almendarez was tied up and gagged. He was found dead the next morning, a post-mortem determining that he died of asphyxia. The other three men charged with murder are Luis Lalin, Elvis Williams, and Austin Mungia.
