Hattieville youths raise funds for education
This evening a small group of young people from Hattieville Village visited News Five to speak about their ongoing efforts to raise money to help children return to school. According to Brittney Domingo of the Hattieville Baptist Young Adults Group, many parents are finding it difficult to meet education expenses and the youths are looking to raise as much money as possible.

“We are fundraising for teenagers that want to go back to school and can’t afford it and for registration, books and other things that they might need for school.”
Jacqueline Woods
“Do you know just how many children are in need of this assistance?”
Brittney Domingo
“We don’t really know, but we are open for people to come and say, I need help with this or with whatever they need and we are just raising funds for them.”
Jacqueline Woods
“And how are you getting this money?”
Brittney Domingo
“Actually we have a paper that we are going around with and we wear our black t-shirts and we go around asking people for funds for this. Many businesses that we go to and ask for donations, they don?t want to give us because they don’t know if we’re really true. But we just want to say through this media that once you see the black shirt with this “Plumstock ’05”, we are from Hattieville and it’s really true. We have our stamp with our pastor’s signature and everything. And at the same time, we are spreading the news about Jesus and God and that Jesus loves everyone.
So far the group has raised close to five hundred dollars.
