“Belize City needs some changes, it’s not a matter of maybe, we need some changes and we need a future for the city. The city noh have no future, we noh have no guidance or nothing. When you look at the old Belize, the way it developed, we had some plans, anytime we jump out of old Belize, we no have no plans. It’s not clean, it’s dirty. I mean when you hear about Ordonez Avenue and you drive inna Ordonez Avenue, it’s some lee narrow street…to go up there, you have to back up out. There is no plan, no future and that dah weh I would want to send to the people, let’s make a plan. I noh the make no promise that I wah do this and I wah do that because we noh know weh situation the financial situation deh inna the country. But we going in deh, we wah find a budget and we wah plan we work and we wah stick to we plan.”

In addition to Sir Andie, other candidates announced so far include Phillip Willoughby, Ernesto Torres and Wayne Usher. No P.U.P. hopefuls have yet come forward, although it is widely believed that incumbent Mayor David Fonseca will not be running for another term.
