Court cashier charged with theft
Another defendant yesterday found herself in familiar surroundings; she’s the former cashier at Magistrate’s Court. Deborah Beaton has been arraigned on four separate counts of theft that took place between January and May of this year. It is alleged that on those occasions she dipped into the cash pan for amounts ranging from seventy-five to three hundred and ninety dollars. Beaton pleaded not guilty and was released after posting bail of four thousand dollars.
