Armed robbers jack S.J.C. registration fees
Tonight Belize City police are on the lookout for a trio of thieves who sought to capitalise on registration fees being paid into Saint John’s College Junior College. Reports to news Five indicate that around three this afternoon three men with handguns walked into the Landivar campus. One of the bandits attacked the main office and stole one hundred and eighty dollars from an assistant. We understand the two accomplices, one of whom was masked, focussed their attention on approximately eight students, stealing cash, jewellery, cell phones and other valuables. Police tell News Five that just before the thieves left the scene, one shot was fired, but no one was injured. The robbers escaped by running through the mangrove swamp on the outskirts of the campus. The suspects are described as young dark-skinned males. If you have any information that may assist the authorities in their investigation, please contact the nearest police station.
