Charges expected in Princess Hotel stabbing
Details remain sketchy tonight, but police reports to News Five indicate that a stabbing incident at the Princess Hotel and Casino has left one man recovering at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital and another in police custody. The victim has been identified to us as thirty-year-old Ernesto Graham also known as Ernesto Perez. According to the hotel’s general manager Jorge Venegas, around nine-thirty last night Graham was one of several hundred people mingling inside the lobby near the entrance of the building, when another man entered and started looking around. It is alleged that when the individual spotted Graham, he simply walked up to him and stabbed him once in his abdomen. The perpetrator tried to get away, but was detained by several bystanders. That man is tonight behind bars, but up to news time no charges have been filed against him. Hospital authorities tell News Five that Graham remains in stable condition. Police say it is believed that the victim and the assailant had been involved in a previous “misunderstanding.” As for the Princess Hotel and Casino, management is calling the affair an unfortunate but isolated incident.
