Two charged in Placencia murder
Tonight two brothers have been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the stabbing death of a Placencia man. According to authorities, twenty-two year old Anthony Moody and twenty-three year old Andre Moody stabbed their brother-in-law, twenty-six year old Robert Cabral, a number of times late Friday night after several hours of socializing together. Cabral’s body was not found until early the following day underneath a building near his home off the main road in Placencia Village. As to a motive for the crime, this afternoon the victim’s brother, Christopher Lewis, told News Five that Cabral had been making plans to leave the country…without his wife… and when she found out, the night rapidly deteriorated into deadly violence.
Christopher Lewis, Brother of Deceased
?My brother was trying to leave the woman. He had couple people from the states getting visas for him. He already got his visa and his passport together. What happened was that there was a little drinking at my neighbour?s house and the girl walked in the house and met him talking to the people that are getting him out of Placencia. He only had two weeks left in Placencia, and she heard it she got mad in front of everybody, she totally lost it, they both left together.?
?The only trouble you ever hear Bobby getting into is due to his wife and his wife?s brothers because of drinking and arguing. But you never hear–there is nobody in Placencia that can say anything bad about Robert?that I know of?and I feel that enough has not been done. They make the girl walk, not even spending a night.?
?I think justice has not been served. The cops no do wah proper investigation, they want to close the case because they have two people charged and the girl is walking and we all know that that girl caused the death of Robert.?
A post-mortem examination on Bobby Cabral is scheduled for Wednesday with funeral services expected to be held as soon as his body is released to the family. Cabral leaves behind three children.
