Thief hits gas station for 14 grand
Another businessman wasn’t so lucky though as an attack on his establishment has netted the culprits some fourteen thousand dollars in cash. According to reports, around one yesterday afternoon, seventy-four year old Ramon Gongora, owner of Ramon’s Esso on the Northern Highway, had just left the gas station and was about to turn onto Coney Drive to go to the bank to make a deposit. But before Gongora’s Mitsubishi could depart, another vehicle pulled up and blocked his movements. A masked man got out and using the butt of a handgun, broke the car’s side window and grabbed the deposit bag. And just as quickly as he had shown up, the thief disappeared. Gongora was not injured. Up to news time tonight, no arrests had been made.
