Two Persons to Stand Trial for Murder
This morning, preliminary inquiries determined that a minor along with Clive Geban will stand trial for the January nineteenth, 2013 murder of Ervin Moralez, a Maskall villager, who was hacked to death inside his home. The PI occurred in the courtroom of Chief Magistrate Anne Marie Smith. Corporal Christopher Smith relied on caution statements given by the two accused persons. There were no eyewitnesses to the gruesome murder of the sixty-seven year old senior citizen. With a prima facie case established against the duo, Smith committed the minor and Geban to stand trial at the June session of the Supreme Court. Morales’ body was discovered wrapped in a sheet in one of the rooms of his two bedroom house located near the entrance to the village. A resident, who cooked for him, became concerned when he did not show up for lunch at the customary time. She alerted a neighbor who found the body. The first to be picked up in connection with the murder was Geban, who was detained at the cutoff to Altun Ha Mayan site at a police check point by officers attached to the Ladyville substation. He has been on remand at the prison while the minor is at the Wagner’s Facility. Both were arraigned on January twenty-fourth, 2013, five days after the gruesome murder.
