Alarm Foils La Popular Robbery

In Orange Walk Town, a robbery was averted at La Popular Bakery and indications are it was an inside job and the watchman was reportedly held at gunpoint. Thirty year old Danny Gonzalez says that just after midnight on Saturday, he heard a knock on the window of the security booth. He further reports that an employee, Calbert Roberts, who is also known as “Crana” told him that he left a card inside his locker and needed the key to open the building. Soon after, Gonzalez was surprised by three men with their faces covered with rags. One pointed a firearm at him while the others stole his cash, cell phone and then proceeded to tie his hands and stuff his mouth. They demanded information on where guns, money and alarm were located. According to Gonzalez, two of the assailants went into the building while the other kept him at gunpoint. But just in time, the alarm was triggered and the trio fled the area. But police have since detained four persons for the attempted robbery: twenty-one year old Victor Luna, eighteen year old Jovan Fajardo, as well as nineteen year olds Luis Briceño and Christian Sutherland. Police are looking Roberts.
