Camalote Resident Shot and Killed in Roaring Creek
The other homicide was in Roaring Creek in the west. Around eight-thirty on Thursday night, a man from the Young Bank Road in Camalote was shot and killed while he was preparing for business for the following day. Elroy Ramirez was at the house of Reginald Ruiz when he met his untimely death. With few details available about Ramirez’s murder, the circumstances are still not clear; however, one person is in police custody and expected to be charged.
Andrea Polanco, Reporting
On Thursday night, three men were working in this yard, preparing fish for market day today. One of those men, thirty year old Elroy Ramirez, better known as “Dread”, never got the chance to go to market. After eight on Thursday night, a lone gun man, with a hoodie pulled over his head, walked along this fence and fired a single shot that caught Ramirez. The man ran across the street and disappeared into the bushes behind this church. Ramirez was rushed to the Western Regional Hospital with pellet wounds to the abdomen and lower body. He succumbed to his injuries shortly before eleven p.m. To his aunt, who wished to appear off camera, Ramirez was an easy going person who kept out of trouble, so the news of his death was unexpected.

“Yes ma’am. I was shock. Shock. I didn’t even know what to do.”
While Belmopan Police are still investigating and no motive for Ramirez’s murder has been identified, speculations are that Ramirez may not have been the intended target. Reporting for News Five, I am Andrea Polanco.
