Browns? court date postponed; did cops fear trouble?
And while one defendant walked, two others had their day in court postponed. Brothers Andrew and Floyd Brown, although scheduled to appear today before Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord in connection with the U.S. Government’s request for extradition, never did leave the confines of Hattieville Prison. The official reason for the postponement was illness on the part of Solicitor General Elson Kaseke. Sources tell News Five, however, that law enforcement authorities were concerned over reports that supporters of the brothers were planning demonstrations outside the courtroom and perhaps other types of interference on the route between Hattieville and Belize City. Security in connection with the Brown case has been increased. The brothers are wanted by U.S. authorities for the alleged importation of forty-two pounds of cocaine into South Florida in 1999.
