Two charged in separate shootings
Investigations into two other Belize City shootings earlier this week have led to the arrest of a pair of suspects. Sixteen-year-old James Tucker was charged with attempted murder, dangerous harm, and deadly means of harm after he was identified as being the person who fired at shopkeeper Shi Xian Mei during a robbery attempt Saturday night. Shi was hit in the buttocks. Police are still seeking the other suspect in that case.
In the other incident on Sunday night, police believe they have their triggerman. Twenty-six year old Paul Tillett has been charged with the attempted murder of Tyrone Smith on Kut Avenue. Smith reports Tillett had stopped him and demanded money, but when he refused and rode away, Smith fired six shots, one of which hit him in the chest.
