Errol Belisle to be Charged for Knocking Down Stella Maris Student
Eleven year old Austin Olivera Junior remains comatose at the K.H.M.H. after he was knocked down by a tour van around eight a.m. on Tuesday morning at mile eight and a half on the Phillip Goldson Highway. Olivera Junior was in front of Sky City Supermarket in Ladyville when the incident occurred. The student of Stella Maris School in Belize City was waiting for a bus to come to school when he was hit by the tour van, driver at the time by sixty-two year old Errol Belisle. According to Station Sergeant Keith Clarke says that charges are expected to be levied on Belisle.

“Upon arrival at the scene, police met one Errol Anthony Belisle, a sixty-two year old tour guide of eighty-eight Amara Avenue, Belize City, who reported that he was driving his Dodge Van from the direction of Belize City towards Sand Hill. He was along with some tourist. Upon reaching in front of Sky City, a male child ran out in front of the vehicle on the right hand side and was knocked down by Mister Belisle’s vehicle. The child was rushed to the K.H.M.H. where he remains in a stable condition. He is currently under observation. As we were made to understand, he is unconscious. An NIP was issued to Mister Belisle, his vehicle was inspected and at the conclusion of this investigation, it is believed that Mister Belisle will be levied with traffic related charges.”
