Passenger Bus Overturns on George Price Highway
Around nine-thirty on Wednesday night, Roaring Creek and Belmopan Police responded to an accident in Camalote Village. Aaron Eck, a bus driver, told police that at about nine-twenty he was driving near a dark area when he saw a horse crossing the street. Eck, who was driving from Belmopan to Teakettle to take passengers to church, said that he tried to avoid hitting the horse and he lost control of the bus which caused it to overturn on the side of the highway. The Blue Bird bus was carrying about nine passengers, of which at least eight received minor injuries and transported to the Western Regional Hospital. Five passengers were treated and released, while two more remain under observation in a stable condition. Police investigations continue.
