Safety Tips to Prevent Fires During Easter

Fire Chief, Ted Smith, also gave safety tips to homeowners who will be leaving their homes unattended for the Easter holidays.

“If you need to leave home, ensure that your house is safe from fires. You look at what may be able to cause a fire and try your best to eliminate the risk. Where electricity is concern, irons, ensure that they are properly turned off and in a safe place. Unplug your fans, if possible, if you can close your breaker panels off, you’d do that. But most likely you can’t do that because we have perishable foods in our refrigerators.”
