Wallet stolen in pharmacy, woman pleads for papers
A morning robbery inside a downtown store has left one traumatized young woman appealing to the public to help her recover her stolen documents. According to Michelle Hoy, she had just arrived in the city from her home in Cotton Tree. After going to the bank to cash her paycheque, she headed to Brodies with four hundred and ninety-seven dollars in cash. But while at the register inside the store’s pharmacy, Hoy says a well-dressed teenager carrying a backpack approached her from behind, grabbed her wallet and took off down the street. In addition to her money, the victim claims there was also a gold chain and a diamond chip earring in the wallet. Hoy says the entire incident took less than thirty seconds and all she can remember is that the boy had a low haircut and was fair-skinned. Tonight the young mother says that she does not want to press charges against the perpetrator, but she does want back her social security card, voter’s ID, a copy of her police record, her passport and related documents that were inside her wallet.
