3 charged in Sand Hill burglary
Three men accused of stealing everything but the kitchen sink from a Belize district resident are tonight enjoying the comforts of the Hattieville Correctional Facility. Twenty-one year old Brian Yorke, nineteen year old Aaron Arnold, and twenty-one year Darrel Grey appeared before Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord today where they were formally arraigned on charges of burglary and handling stolen goods. The matter was treated as indictable offences and all three were remanded to prison. The case stems from an incident that occurred on Wednesday at a home in Sand Hill Village. Barrington Sutherland reported to authorities that sometime between seven-fifteen a.m. and three in the afternoon, a thief or thieves broke into his house and stole clothes, computer equipment, a VCR, DVD, slippers, underwear… and basically everything they could carry. Following intense police investigations in the area, the three accused were found near the Texaco Gas Station a mile from the scene of the crime, carrying three large bags with the stolen goods. A check of a nearby deserted house turned up the rest of Sutherland’s possessions. The case against Grey, Yorke, and Arnold is expected to be heard on August first.
