Galen University offers U.S. degrees
This week Belizean students received another opportunity to earn an international degree…without ever leaving the country. Today officials of Galen University, based at Central Farm in the Cayo District, announced that it has been approved as a regional campus of the University of Indianapolis in the United States. According to Galen’s planning coordinator, Marion Cayetano, students can earn associate, bachelors, and masters degrees in areas such as business, anthropology, tourism and hospitality, and education. This morning Cayetano told News Five the dual degree from Galen and Indianapolis is a sign of the university’s commitment to the country’s educational development.
Marion Cayetano, Planning Coordinator, Galen U.
?Really the relationship with Indianapolis is only one milestone. While it is momentous for us at this moment, really it?s along our longer term vision to be a comprehensive university, one that is bringing hard currency into Belize, one that is providing good educational opportunity to Belizean students, and one that is engaging in the dialogue and development. And I really say that because our philosophy is one of sustainable development.?
According to Cayetano, the dual degree programmes require one hundred and twenty-four credit hours, priced at two hundred and sixty dollars per credit hour over a four-year period. For more information on the programme, please contact Galen at 824-3226.
